Scentsational Scoop… Nouvelle’s Cypress & Moss

It’s been a while since I’ve written a “scentsational scoop” post, so here you go.

Another popular candle line is Nouvelle Candle, candles made in Louisiana.

Currently, I am burning Cypress & Moss- Nouvelle’s homage to the swamps and bayous that are so much a part of Louisiana. Rich notes of amber and vetiver create a deep and moody fragrance suggestive of an early summer evening on the bayou.

Nouvelle Candle Company was founded in 2001. They take great pride in the fact that the product is blended, poured, and packaged by hand in warehouses located in the heart of South Louisiana. Nouvelle believes that a candle should accomplish several things when it is lit. A fragrant candle should fill your home with an aroma that is pleasing for a long period of time.

Filling the Clam Shell {May 2013}

It’s almost summer, so my large concrete clam shell on the entry table has been changed.

The addition of lime green reindeer moss and polished green turbo shells bring hints of the coastal decor that I adore.

Fern Green Drapes {Dining Room}

I was so excited to receive my new drapes for the dining room. The drapes match the den ones and complete the look of the rear of the house.

I was overjoyed to locate the same silk tafetta material and had the seamstress whip up two more 120” panels for the dining room.

I cannot tell you how much I love the color green. Who would have thought that when I purchased the two lamps at Paris Market in Savannah 6-7 years ago that I would finally have a perfect match with the shade stripes to the drapes? Perfect!

Oyster Shell Craze…. or Crazy!

It’s no secret that my favorite bi-valve is the oyster. It’s shape, texture, and size are perfect in decorating and making various crafty projects.

I loved the recent post by Fairhope Supply Co. where the author talks about the oyster craze of late.

Oyster shell creations are everywhere. Oyster shells are not just from tacky souvenir shops any longer. They are found in high end retailers and used for chandeliers, mirrors, and many fine home accessories. Ballard Designs and Wisteria always have great selections of oyster shell products. I have been known to spend good money on what I know are very cheap and easily accessible shells.

Low Country Originals has some of the finest oyster shell products out there on the market.

Take a look at how far the oyster shell has come.

Camp Crisco

Cute name---Chris & Colette. Beautiful beach home (or as we call ‘em, camp).

My sis and BIL finally finished building their camp last season at Amaris Isle, a development in Grand Isle, seven miles of sun, sand, and fun in southern-most Louisiana.

It is hard to get great pictures because as soon as the little ones get in there, the camp turns upside down. Two boys=toys, toys, toys!

I did snap some of my favorite things. The interior design is a work in progress but has come a long way since last year. My sis worked with an interior designer from the Houma-Thibodaux area, and I helped with many decisions and the hanging of much of the art in the camp.
